The ancient Maya foraged the jungles and harvested the earth for fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, legumes and medicinal herbs. They considered the native birds of Mexico, Central and South America to be one of the most sacred animals in their world. Inspired by this, Higgins® created its natural holistic blends, Mayan Harvest®. Mayan Harvest® balances an extended variety of exotic, natural ingredients and holistic herbs in a diet that is free of synthesized vitamins, artificial colors, artificial preservatives and sulfites. Fill your pet bird’s food container with as much food as it will consume in a 24 hour period. Usually for parrots (African Greys, Amazons, and Eclectus), the portion may range between ½ to ¾ cup of food per bird. For Macaws and Cockatoos, the portion may range between 1 cup and 1¼ cups of food per bird. Adjust the portions to meet your bird’s specific dietary needs. Supplement this diet with fresh fruits and vegetables. Remove uneaten food and seed hulls and clean food dish before refilling with new food. Always maintain fresh drinking water for your pet bird.
